Ramon C. Palacio is a Partner with the Firm and focuses his practice on condominium and homeowner association law, landlord-tenant matters, collections, and foreclosures. Mr. Palacio regularly advises community and condominium associations in the interpretation of their governing documents and in the enforcement of their protective covenants. Mr. Palacio is experienced in advising CEOs and business managers on compliance matters relating to federal, state, and local employment laws, and defensive strategies for avoiding employment-related liability. He is experienced in providing workplace training in best practices for management of human capital, as well as the prevention and investigation of harassment and discrimination claims.
Before joining the Firm, Mr. Palacio worked with a leading South Florida condominium developer overseeing condominium properties in four counties and handled over 500 residential sales transactions from contract to closing. Ramon Palacio has served on condominium association boards and has chaired homeowner association architectural review committees.
Mr. Palacio has an extensive background in law enforcement and is versed in crisis management planning for organizations. He chaired a school safety committee for five years where he authored and implemented a comprehensive crisis management plan in cooperation with local law enforcement officials, and has completed numerous courses through the Emergency Management Institute. Mr. Palacio holds the rank of Lt.Col. with the United States Air Force Auxiliary, Civil Air Patrol, where he serves as Legal Officer.
Mr. Palacio received his Juris Doctor degree from Nova Southeastern University, with honors including Law Review (Articles Editor) and Pro Bono Honors. He earned a Masters in Management degree with a Concentration in Human Resources from American Public University. Mr. Palacio holds the designation of Senior Professional in Human Resource Management from the Human Resources Certification Institute, and is a member of The Florida Bar, American Bar Association, Cuban American Bar Association, Realtor Association of Greater Miami and the Beaches, the National Association of Realtors, and the Society for Human Resource Management. Additionally, Mr. Palacio is on the faculty of the University of Phoenix where he teaches business law.
