As one of the most accomplished appellate advocates in the State of Florida, Doug Stein has distinguished himself in his ability to effectively represent clients in every aspect of the appellate process. He has served as lead counsel in more than 1000 civil appeals covering a broad spectrum of issues. He is admitted to practice law in Florida, New York, and the District of Colombia, in addition to various federal appellate courts throughout the country and the United States Supreme Court.
Doug served the maximum two terms on The Florida Bar Appellate Court Rules Committee and has lectured for numerous institutions on the subject of appellate litigation and insurance law. He served as an Adjunct Professor at Florida International University College of Law teaching appellate advocacy and legal writing for five years. Doug has been selected three times by the Judicial Nominating Commission as a candidate for appointment by the Governor to the Third District Court of Appeal, State of Florida.
In addition to his pursuits in the Law, Doug holds a 5th-degree black belt in Shotokan karate and is Director of Legal Affairs and a member of the Executive Board of the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) National Karate Program. He also presently serves on the Board of Directors of USA Karate as appointed by the United States Olympic Committee.
