Lilliana has been representing community associations for over 20 years. In addition to her experience in assisting community associations in their day-to-day business, management and the operational aspects of governing their communities, she assists developers, boards of directors, unit owners and community association managers in analyzing and resolving their often complex contractual and transactional disputes and issues.
In addition to drafting amendments, rewriting condominium and homeowner association governing documents and regulations and restrictions, she has extensive experience in analyzing the complex issues that arise involving association governing documents and applicable state and local laws. Lilliana has appeared before the Department of Business and Professional Regulations and numerous local boards and special magistrates to advocate on behalf of her clients and their positions.
Ms. Farinas-Sabogal is also Board Certified by the Florida Bar in Condominium & Planned Development Law. Board certification is the Florida Bar's highest level of competence, professionalism, and expertise and requires peer review, ongoing education, and a rigorous exam. She has also been recognized in The Best Lawyers in America® for her work in Community Association Law. She is currently an Adjunct Professor at the University of Miami School of Law, teaching Basic Concepts of Condominium & Planned Development Law. Ms. Farinas-Sabogal's practice further extends to involvement and expertise in appellate drafting, practice and proceedings. She has handled appeals involving a broad range of subject matters and argued before a number of tribunals. She was also an Adjunct Professor at St. Thomas University, School of Law, and taught Appellate Advocacy, Legal Research and Writing and Advanced Legal Research and Writing for ten years.
